Pallas is an AI-first company. We use AI extensively throughout our work, from research and drafting to editing and design. This page explains how we use it, and where we draw the line.

Every AI draft is human reviewed

Nothing we publish goes out without a human editor. Dream is our authoring environment, designed so that expert teachers can direct AI to produce material that is pedagogically sound and consistent with the science of reading. The teacher is in the loop from start to finish.

Our vision

We want to use AI to codify the best practices of the science of reading and put them within reach of every classroom.

Model-agnostic

We use a variety of models from a variety of providers, and we swap them as the field evolves. We hold no allegiance to any single model or lab.

Grounded to prevent hallucination

To keep the AI honest, we ground it in a carefully vetted database of sources we believe to be truthful. The AI writes from that fact set, not from open-ended memory.

Images and video

Historical images are never AI-generated or modified. When students see a photograph, painting, or document from the past, it is the real thing. Images and video used for design, decoration, or conceptual illustration may be AI-generated or AI-enhanced.
